The Vision

Note from Sarah: The first time I recieved this vision I was at church sitting in my seat. It was the end of the service and several people were pouring their hearts out to God at the alter. I just began to speak to the Lord quietly. As I spoke my simple words, I forgot what was going on around me, and all my attention became wrapped up in a single being...God.

I suddenly felt as if I was dreaming and this vision began to come to me. The first time I saw it, everything happened so fast and I was so caught up in the experience that I forgot much of what I had seen. It was like swinging and missing the first pitch, but God wanted me to remember what He was showing me.

The next day I was sitting in my room just having a quiet time with the Lord when I began to see the vision again. This time I took no chances and wrote down everything right away. I scribbled franticly, but still I knew I had left out some portions that had already begun to fade. Again that evening I was praying and saw the very same vision. This time I wrote down the parts I had missed earlier. Here it is, as best as I can remember, with hopefully many more chapters to come!

I will wait upon the Lord, and He will deliver me. He is watching me constantly. I am always in His sight. No harm can overcome me for He, He is my God. I love His ways. I love my God for He is the very utterance of life itself. I forget myself in the richness of His gaze, the might of His power. Light emanates from Him continually, and this light exposes all that is near to Him. His light blends together with sound waves streaming from the inner chamber. These are the cries of the saints worshiping in Spirit and in truth.

Vision

The Throne

The air was thick with worship. God was seated on His golden throne, the beauty of it I cannot describe. Inlaid with unearthly gems as if He had gathered the most beautiful stars with one sweep of His hand and placed them there.

I could not see His face, but I could feel the force of His look upon me. The light was like lightning surrounded by an impenetrable cloud of pure light, warm light, golden and soft. As I knelt in His presence, I could have stayed there forever just like that, for His glory was thrilling, frightening, gentle, fatherly.

Suddenly He stood, and as He did so, the air around Him spread out into all eternity, sending shock waves of His glory out from around Him. Like a rock that is thrown into a still lake, the rock creates a circle of water that moves outward. So it is, whenever He moves at all, He sends forth a wave of His glory.

The ring of glory moved over me and I was helpless in it for the moment that it passed over me. I shuddered and gripped the floor to keep myself from being pulled away, so strong was the force of His glory wave.

I lifted my chin from the floor just so I could see His feet and the bottom of the throne. There He stood¼grand and mesmerizing. I could have stared at His feet for five millenniums and never budged. As I lay prostrate on the floor I could see the lower half of His glorious robes billowing out like a ship's sail in a strong ocean wind. Fire seemed to dance through the folds of the brilliant fabric.

He took one step off the pearl colored platform of His throne and, in doing so, sent more shockwaves of His glory out into all of creation and over me. I gripped the ground with all my strength, praying that I would not be carried away from Him. I heard His next step as He descended completely from the platform. His kingly robe was like a banner proclaiming the presence of the Most Holy God. He stood for a moment as if He was surveying something and then I saw His arm lift and motion toward the earth. It was then that I saw the earth. It was a mesh of green and blue and we seemed to be hovering in space looking down on it. I was so caught up in the mystery that I didn’t brace myself for the glory wave that was rushing toward me. It caught me like a rip tide, and dragged me backwards for several moments. While in the wave, I felt a million jolts of what felt like electricity sparking through me, vibrating through the air. The glory emanating from His every move was so amazing. I wanted to be consumed by this forever, so shocking and wonderful were it’s effects. As suddenly as the wave had captured me, I was released as though I had been caught in a soft net, warm and gentle, yet clearly very strong and firm. I realized two angels had caught me in their enormous wings. I stood with difficulty, for my legs were trembling still.

The Angels

They were almost the same height, at least four feet taller than me, but the one on the right was slightly taller and had more of a warrior’s look to him. He had fierce silver eyes that glistened in the ever present light. He wore a golden breastplate and by his side a sword was hanging. The sound waves in the air caused the sword to sing. In this place, I thought, even soldierly weapons worship Him. The warrior angel had a ferocious look and I wondered if this was my guardian angel. He looked like He could slay any beast no matter of it’s size or strength with one movement of his arm.

The smaller angel to the left had smiling eyes that released joy into the atmosphere every time he blinked. His body was the color of a river. Everything about this angel seemed to sing out with joy about the creator. His wings were bright blue and the edges were outlined with a sparkling silver. His robe was an array of colors. Colors that I had never even seen before. I looked up at the towering angels and yet I was not intimidated or fearful. And even though this was the first time I was seeing them, I felt as if their presence was familiar.

I thought back over the times when I had prayed for angels to come to protect or be released to fight a battle. And as I thought of this, I glanced at the warrior looking angel. Maybe he had fought a battle or two for me! In any case, he spoke first. “God is moving. Do you wish to follow Him? Some were also washed away in the very same wave as you, but they have gone back to wonder about it.” Longing was in his eyes and I realized that He wanted to be in the Father’s presence too.

Excitedly the smaller one said, “ The ones who have gone back are foolish for they do not know the depth of God’s presence. There is always more. Let us fly to Him this instant, it is so cold away from Him!” With that he lifted his beautiful blue and silver wings as if he would fly away in an instant.

My body was exhausted and I felt as if I could not stand for another moment. Sensing my thoughts, the regal warrior said, “All is replenished in His presence, all is made new”. “Let us follow Him” I mumbled, for even speaking was difficult after the exertion of the wave. The wave was like a sudden surge of all God’s power that left me breathless. Now it was time for me to seek out His heart.
